colours schemes

we will be researching many diffrent bands of the rock genre to see what colour schemes they use, and if it reflects the brand image and theme.

from our research of various bands a common theme is black with a primary colour over the top too stand out. such as green days black and green theme. as we can see a light green background with black writing, this stands out becuase of its colours alone.

this beatles cover, the itunes version shows a blast of vibrant colours bursting out at the consumer. a modern twist on a iconic album cover. the colours fit perfectly and each stand out against the other.

the pink floyd wallpaper has another strong impact of colour against the black background. one side is black and white then an outburst of various diffrent colours on the other. the colurs make this poster stand out and gives it the feel of the album, although this is not very typical of all rock bands to use colours such as yellow and purple, there is a common theme of bright colours against the black.

another pink floyd album cover, a simple design, the album refers to the picture seen, "the wall" another use of light and dark colours to contrast with each other, the poster is very appealing and it easily recognisable. the colours make this poster so appealing, making the information easily displayed and gives it an iconic theme.

Avenged sevenfold have used scary theme to reflect there genre of heavy metal. the album "nightmare" goes well with its nightmarish theme, using dark colours throughout. the title is written in white and red to stand out from the picture behind it.
